It was in this monastery that the Order of St. Jerome germinated. Its construction as a monastery proper began in 1474 on an existing chapel dedicated to San Bartolomé dating from 1330. This 14th century monastery offers unusual facilities. Outside, it is surrounded by a lush forest and impressive gardens; in the interior, the greater cloister, of Renaissance style, consists of square plant with two floors, safe in a side that has three; it is articulated on the first floor with arches of half point decorated with columns while the upper arcade is formed by mixtilinear arches.
