At the Plaza Anaya we can find one of the most important monuments of Salamanca (Castile and Leon), the Anaya Palace. Founded in 1401 by Diego de Anaya, a great thinker and lover of literature. In this building he founded the Colegio Mayor de San Bartolomé, also known as the College of Anaya, where he taught, being one of the leading promoters of learning and knowledge of his time.
