Medialab Prado is a cultural space that works as a production and dissemination laboratory for projects related to the Internet and digital networks. Located in the former building of the Serrería Belga (The Belgian Sawmill), right in the heart of the Barrio de las Letras (Literary Quarter) and next to the Paseo del Prado, this is one of the scarce examples of industrial architecture that remain in the city centre. When the space was refurbished, its industrial style was respected by using exposed reinforced concrete. The Classicist façade was maintained, albeit with the addition of a giant screen integrated into the urban environment.
