To the south of Navarre lies Tudela, the second city in Navarre in terms of both size and importance. Founded in 802 by Amrus ibn Yusuf al-Muwalad, for more than 400 years, Muslims, Jews and Mozarabs coexisted. The architectural gem of the city is the cathedral of Santa Maria, built around 1180 over the remains of an old mosque. The International exhibition of contemporary muralism Avant Garde Tudela ‘Arte urbano Espacio humano’ is an international exhibition of contemporary muralism that was organized by the Department of Culture of the City Council of Tudela – EPEL Castel Ruiz.
