It has a distinctive urban fabric of rich neighborhoods, mansions, alleys, arches and passageways. The old town of Tarazona (Zaragoza, Aragon) had already been declared Historic Site in 1965. In the natural landscape the Sierra del Moncayo, protected since 1978 as a Natural Park, stands out, and in the monumental area the highlights are tradition buildings of Mudejar style and the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Veruela, a 12th century building of Cistercian style in Vera de Moncayo, 14 km from Tarazona.
