Sierra Nevada occupies a considerable area in the provinces of Granada and Almeria (Andalusia). The Natural Park covers an area of 174,849 hectares (85,883 of them are also National Park). From the vega of Granada one can see in the distance a giant snow-capped peak which is Sierra Nevada.
