El Fontán (Oviedo, Asturias) is nowadays a picturesque and cosy rectangular square situated in the old town of Oviedo. Its name actually comes from the spring or ‘fontán’ which used to fill the primitive pond situated in that area. Close to this square, there is the old market of El Fontán.
