Parks of Pamplona

Pamplona has several picturesque parks, such as the Ciudadela, the Taconera, Yamaguchi or the Arga river park.    The Ciudadela: 280,000 square metres, it’s considered the best example of military architecture from the Spanish Renaissance and one of the most outstanding defensive fortifications to have been designed in Europe.   The Taconera Gardens: 90,000 square meters, with a marked romantic and Versaillesque character. It also has a mini-zoo in the moat of the walls that contains deer, ducks, pheasants, swans, peacocks….    Yamaguchi Park: The park was designed in 1997 in an oriental style by Japanese landscape gardeners, which is why it contains all the features typical of a garden imported from the land of the Rising Sun, with all its refinement, delicacy and attention to detail.    In the Arga River Park you can see several historical bridges, dams, mills, bridges, gardens, parks, jetties, picnic areas, fishing points, farms, market gardens, fields with horses and cows, fountains, a frontón (Basque pelota court) …
