Located in Campo de las Naciones, Juan Carlos I is an immense park covering 160 hectares, in which there is an olive grove with over 2,000  specimens of the former Olivar de Hinojosa, a lake, an auditorium, a collection of open-air sculptures and an activity centre. It was opened to the public in 1992 on occasion of the Madrid European Capital of Culture.
