The current Parador Nacional de Corias is located in the facilities of the former monastery of San Juan Bautista de Corias, also known as the asturian Escorial, and is located in the town of Corias, in the municipality of Cangas del Narcea (Asturias). The monastery, built in the 11th century and rebuilt at the end of 18th century, was rehabilitated as shown between 2006 and 2012, transforming it into a first class National Parador. Its basements are a beautiful museum in which the archaeological remains of the first construction can be seen.
