Monastery of Saint Mary from Valbuena

The Monastery of Santa Maria from Valbuena is a spanish monastery. It was founded in the XII century by Estefania Armengol, daughter of Armengol V and granddaughter of Padro Ansúrez. From its foundation on, for all the XII century, the monastery enjoyed many benefits by the pope and the royals and this contributed to its expansion and prosperity. From the XIII century the donations were carried on but in a minor measurement, so the monastery had to face a slow decadency, that was got over in the XV century.
