The Priory Church of Santa María is Gothic in style and has the proportions of a cathedral. Its magnificent altarpiece, a masterpiece of Andalusian Plateresco, stands out. In this building in Carmona (Seville, Andalusia) we find the Medieval sculpture of the Virgen de Gracia or the Christ of the Martyrs. In the offices of the church, there is an Exhibition of Historical and Artistic Heritage which holds certain highlights such as Zurbarán’s series of paintings of the Apostles, beautiful silver monstrance of the 16th century, by Francisco de Alfaro, and imagery such as the Christ of the Forsaken of the 13th century.
