Surrounded by a wall from the year the city was founded by Alfonso VIII of Castilla, the old town of Plasencia is declared a Cultural Interesting Asset. It’s a good idea to start to know the streets around Plaza Mayor. Nearby you will find the Old Cathedral in Romanesque facade and an interior that goes from Romanesque to Gothic. Already Plateresque, the New Cathedral has a beautiful facade and an interior crowned by a seventeenth-century altarpiece, and brought from the Old Cathedral, in addition to other wonderful choir. The Cathedral Square is the home of the Dean, the seventeenth century, which highlights the balcony of Corinthian columns. Nearby you can visit the convent of Las Claras or oldest palace as the palace Monroy House of the thirteenth century. Are located near the Episcopal Palace and the Ethnographic Museum.
