The works were carried out in just 300 days, and the costs were 4 million pesetas. The Autòdrom Terramar became a world reference in motorsports, especially when the first international grand prix in the history of Spain was held, a competition comparable to the current Formula 1 championship. It is the fourth oldest track in the world. It was the first circuit to be built in Spain and the third in Europe. Currently, the Autòdrom Terramar is the only permanent old oval circuit in the world.
