Madrid, 11 February 2026 – Spain Film Commission will play a prominent role at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, which will be held from February 12 to 18, with a busy schedule aimed at consolidating Spain’s position as one of Europe’s leading hubs for international audiovisual production.
Spain Film Commission’s presence in Berlin will include the active participation of 13 of its members: Andalucía Film Commission, Asturias Film Commission, Bilbao Bizkaia Film Commission, Canary Islands Film Commission, Cantabria Film Commission, Catalunya Film Commission, Galicia Film Commission, Ibiza Film Commission, Film Madrid Region, Madrid Film Office, Menorca Film Commission, Navarra Film Commission and Vitoria-Gasteiz / Álava Film Commission. The wide and continuous participation of the association is a reflection of the strength and territorial capillarity of the Spanish model of filming attraction, which will have different milestones in the market’s agenda.
The main event of the organization’s activity will be the professional meeting “Italian, Portugal, and Spain Film Commission: Connecting Producers”, which will bring together representatives of the film commissions from the three countries, as well as international producers and other professionals, with the aim of promoting co-productions, sharing experiences, and generating new opportunities for collaboration in the European and Mediterranean audiovisual space among the three countries. The meeting will take place on friday, february 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski – Room 1907.
In addition, Juan Manuel Guimeráns, president of the Spain Film Commission, will participate as a speaker in the session “Economic Impact Reporting as Strategy: Measuring Value, Informing Policy and Unlocking Investment”, which will take place at Netflix headquarters in Berlin. The session, organized in collaboration with Olsberg SPI, will address the strategic use of economic impact data as a tool to inform public policy and attract international investment, an area in which the Spain Film Commission has established itself as a European benchmark. The panel will also feature the participation of AFCI Executive Director, Claire Brooks.
With this agenda, the Spain Film Commission reaffirms its role at the EFM in Berlin as a key interlocutor between territories, industry, and administrations, and as a driving force behind a strategy based on international cooperation and support for talent, which consolidates Spain as a preferred destination for global audiovisual production.
