This emblematic building in the center of Palma occupies the site of the old cemetery of Camp Roig. Construction began in the seventeenth century to host a charity institution dedicated to accommodate homeless people, but work continued until the nineteenth century. The top of the building maintains the two building blocks that once belonged to the departments of men and women. The architectural complex features a large trapezoidal arcaded courtyard with Doric columns on the ground floor and Ionic on the first floor.
