The Bidasoa railway line started in 1898 to link Irun to the mines at Endarlatsa in Navarra. In 1916 the line was extended to Elizondo , with a passenger train. The now-disused route has been converted into a greenway covering 35 kilometres from Legasa to Endarlatsa along the Bidasoa river valley. Along the way you will see magnificent scenery with green meadows dotted with farmhouses, picturesque tunnels, typical villages and even the odd abandoned bunker. On foot or by bicycle, it is always an easy and pleasant trip that is mostly flat.
