Laboral Theatre

(Asturias)

Conceived at origin as a great lecture hall for students and teachers of the old Laboral University –currently Laboral City of Culture (Gijón, Asturias)-, the premises have become the first of autonomic ownership in the community and one of the best in the north of Spain with regard to spaces, capacity and technology. It has 1,426 seats located in the main hall, the box and the amphitheatre, to which should be added those of the rehearsal, meeting and conference halls, increasing its capacity to 2,000 spectators. The Painting Hall deserves a special mention on the second floor of the Theatre, with frescos by Enrique Segura and the access to the balcony opening out onto the main Square.
