Las Ubiñas-La Mesa Natural Park is located in the municipalities of Teverga, Quirós and Lena (Asturias), in the central area of the Cantabrian mountain range. It has an area of 35,793 hectares and since 2012 it is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. The whole park is an area of great diversity and good state of conservation with a third of its surface occupied by forests of high ecological value and appreciable antiquity, highlighting the beech forests.
