The Asturian Mining and Industry Museum is located in El Entrego (San Martin del Rey Aurelio, Asturias), one of the Asturian municipalities with the largest mining tradition. It is the second most visited museum in Asturias. The complex explains the intense mining activity that took place in the Asturian Mining Basins since the 18th century, as well as the history of coal, the Industrial Revolution and the technological advances in this field over the centuries. Apart from the extensive exhibitions and machinery available, it has a simulated underground mine accessed through a cage, being the main attraction of the museum.
