Ruinas de Santa Mariña

(Pontevedra)

Late Ogive style temple that was built by order of Juana de Hungría and María de Ulloa in the mid 16th century. The arches of the chapels on the sides showcase the sculptural perfection of the figures: the twelve Apostles on the South side and the mystery of the Incarnation in the North side. It is a gothic church in Cambados (Pontevedra, Galicia) that consists of a single nave divided into five sections by four transverse arches that supported a wooden roof. The apse, which is rectangular, is accessed through an ogive arch and covered by vaults that form a four-pointed star. It still has a tower composed of three massive bodies.
