Tablas de Daimiel

(Ciudad Real)

National Park of 1,928 acres. It is formed by river plains, due to the overflow of the Guadiana’s and the brackish waters of the Cigüela, with rich flora and fauna such as ducks, geese, etc. It was declared a National Park in 1973 and a Biosphere Reserve in 1981. The survival of this park in Daimiel (Ciudad Real, Castile-La Mancha) is in danger due to overexploitation of aquifers.
