Built in the Middle Ages, the Hanging Houses were known as ‘The King’s Houses’. The Hanging Houses are a set of civil buildings in Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha) consisting of over hanging wooden balconies. This architectural element used to be common in the eastern edge of the city of Cuenca, but today only a few of them remain.
