The Cabárceno Natural Park is an example of environmental recuperation of an area degraded by centuries of mining. It occupies an area of 750 hectares in Obregón (Cantabria) and currently has more than 1,000 animals of 119 species, many of them endangered, in semi-liberty; making it a leading example for conservation and research initiatives. The scenery is breathtaking and offers different venues through wonderful gorges, peaceful lakes and suggestive rocky figures.
