Palacio de Sobrellano

(Cantabria)

The Sobrellano Palace and Chapel-Pantheon were designed by Joan Martorell as Neogothic buildings. The modernist character is more intensely felt in the integration and mainstreaming of diverse decorative arts than it its aesthetic. This palace in Comillas (Cantabria) has an orthogonal structure, with a central hall and a monumental stone staircase. It has a large central salon and a spectacular facade, made of Carrejo stone, with open galleries decorated with trefoil archs and colonnade.
