Inside the Basilica of Santa Maria de la Victoria, which is one of the main churches in Malaga (Andalusia), one can find one of the darkest Pantheons in Spain, belonging to the Counts of Buenavista. Its decorations with a black background, skeletons and death figures in white plaster is a reminder of the Medieval death dances. It should be interpreted as a statement of the Baroque’s discourse on death.
