The Natural Park of Lagunas de Ruidera, in the limits of the provinces of Ciudad Real and Albacete, is considered one of the most interesting and beautiful natural areas of the Peninsula, a visual spectacle of striking scenic and geological features, a kind of oasis in the middle of Campo de Montiel. The Park is formed by a complex lagoon system of fifteen lagoons that, along 30 kilometers, constitute the Alto Guadiana valley and in its highest part the birthplace of the Guadiana River.
